Throughout seventh and eighth grade, I did not always put what needed to be done before what I wanted to do. And after I did that, I was behind in the class work, the homework, and since I had to get caught up, I didn’t always have time to do the things that I wanted to do. That is about to change. My name is Kevin H, and during freshman year I am going to devote myself to studying harder for tests, doing all of my homework on time, and making new friends.
Studying for tests is very important because they count for a lot of the final grade. I think that the best way to do this is to review homework that has material that is going to be on the test, and then on the night before the test, study the most recent homework assignment on the subject, that way I will be completely prepared for the test.
Another very important thing that I need to remember while in high school is to get all of the homework done on time. From time to time there will be a night that is so full of activities that the homework won’t get done, but that happens to everybody. When the homework can get done, which is mostly every time, a good thing that I need to keep in mind is to not procrastinate.
Procrastination will only end up with being behind in school work and having to rush around at the last minute to finish things up. Also, I need to make sure that the homework gets turned in, so that the homework can get graded and so that it won’t be counted as late.
Lastly, I am going to be open to making new friends during freshman year, because the friends that I already have and the friends that I make this year will last me for the rest of high school. I want to have friends that will be there for me when I need some homework help or some advice on other things. I want to have friends that won’t stop being my friend because of the people that I hang out with. Having good true friends is a good thing to have throughout high school whether I need them or not.
Freshman year is a year of fresh starts and new beginnings. It’s a time to do things that were never thought possible. Whatever academic thing that is done is going to effect the chances of getting into a good college. So I am going to make my freshman year the start of a new beginning.
